"If this nation collapses in the 2010-2012 time frame, historians will have to report, if they are honest, that American fell because of silent pastors and inactive pews." Jim Garlow, Renewing American Leadership
"At its core, modern secular liberalism is based on a hatred of Christianity. For decades liberals have sought to eradicate our Judeo-Christian heritage from the public square. Christophobia is the fashionable bigotry of our time. Progressives keep saying that Islam is a religion of peace yet millions of Islamist extremists embrace jihad and terror using the Koran as the theological basis for a holy war against the West. The true religion of peace is Christianity. Christians must vigorously defend their faith." Jeffrey T. Kuhner, President, the Edmund Burke Institute
"Christianity is in retreat. The greatest victory that the American left has had over the last 100 years is to browbeat Christians and to purge their influence from the public square, especially in politics. Yet if Christians were to simply flex their collective muscles, the nation would be immediately transformed and improved." Dr. Grace Vuoto, Executive Director of the Edmund Burke Institute for American Renewal
In 238 days America will go to the polls and cast votes, not just for President of the United States, not just for members of the Senate and Congress, not just for judges and city councilmen. No, on November 6th, 2012, America will go to the polls and vote for liberty, freedom and justice for all to continue in America, or we will cast our votes for tyranny and a man as our leader who will be 'untethered by public opinion...a free man in the White House to do what he wants.' Watch the video below. (h/t Randy R.)
What is Obama's dream? Is it, as Dinesh D'Souza says, 'the dream from his father?' The dream to realign America in the world...to put a leash on the rogue power - America - the very nation that Obama leads, our nation, the United States of America, and to use the power of the state to control the status of America in the world? In other words, what many of us know, to destroy America as we know it? Already, Mr. Obama appoints Czars to his White House staff without the consent of the Congress. Already, Mr. Obama has realigned the American economy into an economy where he now runs two or more automotive manufacturers - Chrysler and GM (and peripherally Ford.) Already, Mr. Obama has stated to the world that America is not a Christian nation. Already Mr. Obama has embraced Venezuela's dictator Hugo Chavez and bowed to (and perhaps kissed the ring of) the Saudi King.
To re-elect Barack Hussein Obama will be to unleash his dream, and the dream of his Kenyan father, on America and change what America is - possibly forever.
We hold in our hands the power to stop this force. We the people can vote BHO out of office. We the people can learn who Barack Hussein Obama is - a post American President whose dream is to realign America in the world - and vote him and his radical Czars out of office. Barack Hussein Obama is doing exactly what he promised in his campaign - fundamentally transforming America.
Yet, our Founding Fathers gave us a document, the Constitution of the United States of America, to protect us from just that - the fundamental transformation of America. The preamble to the Constitution says, "We the people, of the United States of America, in order to form a more perfect union, to establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and TO SECURE THE BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY FOR OURSELVES AND OUR POSTERITY, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
The church in America has the most to lose of any people group in America by aiding in the re-election the sitting President. Why? Because the church in America is currently having its right of FREEDOM OF RELIGION - the FIRST FREEDOM given to us in the Bill of Rights - challenged and tested. Freedom FROM religion has replaced FREEDOM OF RELIGION. Without freedom of religion - without freedom of speech, there is no freedom for anyone.
The church in America fails in its task of leading the nation to the polls to demonstrate the right that our fourth generation Judeo-Christian background, Founding Fathers gave us to preserve freedom of religion -the VOTE.
Only about 45% of Christian church goers vote. The numbers of Chrisitans who do not go to the polls is staggering. And, of the Christians who did vote in 2008, about 45% of them voted for HOPE and CHANGE aka, Barack Hussein Obama. Christians vote nearly like the secular world.
This is the year that those statistics must change. The nineteenth century Evangelist, Charles Finney, said, "The Church must take the right ground in regards to politics...God cannot sustain this free and blessed country which we love and pray for, unless the church take the right ground."
What is the right ground? The church must get involved. Prior to 1954, Pastors were involved in politics. Prior to 1954 there were no restrictions on what churches could or couldn't do regarding speech about government and voting. (One exception - a law in 1934 that prevented non-profits from using a substantial part of their resources tolobby for legislation.) But, in 1954 the U.S. Congress amended (without debate or analysis) IRS code 501(c)(3) to restrict the speech of non-profit tax exempt entities - including churches.
Senator Lyndon Johnson was up for reelection. He intended to win. He offered this amendement because two secular non-profit organizations were opposing his reelection to the Senate. In a vengeful act, a very powerful U.S. Senator succeeded in silencing his political opponents with this bill. And since the passage of that bill, churches have silenced themselves.
There are 29 categories of organizations considered exempt from taxes under section 501(c) of the tax code. Yet, only organizations that fall under 501(c)(3) of the code are subject to the speech restriction. Since free speech is a Constitutionally protected right, tax exemption really is not a matter of 'grace' rendered by legislators for churches. The Johnson Amendment that was put upon churches is an unconstitutional choice to surrender their constitutionally protected rights to freedom of speech and free exercise of religion to get a tax exemption. This really is something that the government is not allowed to do.
The Alliance Defense Fund sums it up this way: "To understand how ridiculous this actually is, imagine a statute that conditioned receipt of a tax exemption on a church giving up its constitutionally protected right to be free of unreasonable search and seizure, or giving up its right against self-incrimination, or requiring a church to quarter troops in its pews if it receives a tax exemption."
Unfortunately, the 1954 amendment did silence Pastor's speech from the pulpit. Churches believed they faced the choice of speaking freely on any and all issues or losing their tax exempt status. The ADF believes that the amendment is unconstitutional and points out that in the 50 plus years of the strict interpretation by the IRS, there is no reported situation to date where a church has lost its tax exempt status or been directly punished for sermons delivered from the pulpit.
2012 - LIBERTY OR TYRANNY - the church can and will decide. Barack Hussein Obama won the vote for the Presidency in 2008 by six votes per precinct. A tiny number of votes in each precinct. If each church registered all of its voting age members and helped them get educated on the issues of values important to Christians - Values Voters - the church would lead the charge to save LIBERTY in America for ourselves and OUR POSTERITY. The Constitution was designed in 1787 as a document that we the people should fight to preserve. WHY? That we might continue to live in the freedom that they won for us in the War of Independence.
Our fathers and grandfathers fought in two World Wars against tyrannical regimes. Some of our fathers fought in Korea and Vietnam against the tyrannical force of Communism. They fought, like our founding fathers fought, to preserve our freedom.
Now it is our turn. It is our time to fight; not with guns or swords or bombs. Now it is our time to fight through the means our forefathers gave us that we would not HAVE TO FIGHT. We can and must vote for candidates who will uphold the Constitution of the United States. Now is the time to fight by voting. We do not need to occupy buildings or places. We can change the nation by voting.
Now is the hour, now is the time to act.
The church can take the lead. The church can get involved. The church has many options for informing the body of Christ. Get your church registered to vote. Call us. We can help you set up a voter registration drive - completely legal for your church. Call us. We can help educate your church on the forces that are dividing America and what you can to to reunite our nation for ourselves and our posterity. GET INVOLVED. CALL 919.412.3180 or email us at susie@cufa.co to have us come and speak at your church. REGISTER. VOTE. PARTICIPATE.
Thomas Paine said,"If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."
There is trouble, and it is in our day. To pass on to our children and grandchildren the free nation that our forefathers left us, we must act. Their gift to us is a vote.
At CPAC 2012, just three weeks ago, Andrew was everywhere. He chatted with all the bloggers. Andrew was personable, friendly, supportive and the face of what the new media can accomplish in the face of a media that will not report the truth. Many bloggers that I know called him friend. He will be missed by many.
One of his websites, Big Government, announced his passing this morning.
"With a terrible feeling of pain and loss we announce the passing of Andrew Breitbart.
Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.
We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.
Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.
Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:
I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.
Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.
Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us."
